Stepping out of your comfort zone is often associated with challenging yourself to do something difficult. Today I want to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way. It can simply mean taking what you already know and expressing it in YOUR unique, innovative way. It doesn’t have to be hard, just different. Take it from me: this can be fun!
My friend, fellow professional speaker and former WLS radio personality, Catherine Johns does this on a regular basis by putting into practice what she learned from her dad: “Never go back the same way you came.”
What a great easy way to step out of your comfort zone and see new, interesting things. It can start with something as simple as your daily commute. As Catherine says, “it keeps things fresh,” and with that comes new ideas, opportunities, possibilities, and solutions.
Combining the old with the new helps shake you out of the rut of routine, enables you to see the world with fresh eyes, and keeps the spark of innovation alive in your life.
